South
Jersey Bayshore Environmental Resource Inventory
Thanks to a William Penn Foundation grant, South Jersey Bayshore
Coalition now has an extensive Environmental Resource Inventory
of South Jersey Bayshore put together by Rutgers University's
Grant F. Walton Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis
(CRSSA).
Available
on the CRSSA
website, the Inventory consists of a series of geographic
information system (GIS) composite and thematic maps of the Bayshore's
- Existing
land cover,
- Natural
communities,
- Estuarine
zone,
- Habitat
and biodiversity,
- Water
resources, and
- Historic
and cultural resources.
The
Inventory will help with land-use planning and developing protection
strategies for the region's exceptional resources. The data are
available in several formats that accommodate users with varying
skills and needs.
