“FINAL DRAFT” OF REGIONAL MANAGMENT PLAN RELEASED FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

 

At its regularly scheduled meeting of Nov. 19, 2007, the New Jersey Highlands Council voted to release the “Final Draft” of the Regional Management Plan and new “Technical Addenda” for public review and comment.  The previous draft of Nov. 30, 2006 has been extensively reorganized and specific policies and objectives and programs have been added.

Download the color versions since the report contains numerous color maps. 

 

Also released for review and comment are “Technical Addenda” that discuss some of the assumptions used in developing the RMP.  These may be accessed at: http://www.highlands.state.nj.us/njhighlands/technical_addenda.html

 

COMMENT PERIOD EXTENDED

The Council also extended the public comment period for “90 days after the release of the plan”.  The comment deadline is February 28, 2008.  You may comment on-line, by direct e-mail, in writing, or at one of the three public hearings.

THREE PUBLIC HEARINGS SCHEDULED

The Council has also scheduled three public hearings to obtain testimony from the general public.  The hearings will be held on:

There will be no pre-registration.  Sign up sheets will be used and you will be called to testify.  Speakers are encouraged to also submit written comments.
