Membership & Development Director Job Search

The Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) is seeking a bright, energetic Membership & Development Director to join our passionate and dedicated team. ANJEC is a 47 year-young non-profit whose mission is to achieve responsible and sustainable use of New Jersey’s natural resources and protection of environmental health. ANJEC is a statewide organization that provides leadership, education, and support for environmental commissions, other local boards, and public officials. We also partner with organizations to advocate for strong state and regional environmental policy.

The Membership & Development Director positon is an expanding role at ANJEC.  The primary responsibility is to raise financial support and awareness for ANJEC’s mission. It is the responsibility of the Membership & Development Director to work closely with the Executive Director to carryout direct member appeals, special events planning, and development of support from stewardship-minded corporations and businesses. The Membership & Development Director’s role is to build relationships with individual donors, businesses, and corporations by raising awareness of ANJEC’s mission. The Membership & Development Director will provide staff support to ANJEC’s Board and assist in the creation and implementation of a new strategic fundraising plan. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

ANJEC is seeking a professional with strong writing and management skills with the ability to multitask. Excellent people skills, flexible scheduling, sense of humor, ability to work well in a team, and passion for and interest in the environment are must haves. A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field and 3-5 years minimum relevant work experience required. Experience with fundraising and non-profits a plus. This is a 30 hour/week position with opportunity for growth. The position is located in ANJEC’s Mendham office. Flexible scheduling and telecommuting arrangements can be organized.
